Problem
Lil 9 needed a single place online for his music, content and brand identity. The goal was a professional digital home that brings those pieces together on one centralized platform and gives fans and visitors a modern way to discover his music, explore his content and connect with his online presence.
Approach
I designed and developed the site from concept through deployment as a paid Built.km client project, covering the UI/UX, responsive layouts, music presentation, content organization and the overall digital experience. The work followed six priorities: a strong visual identity, modern UI/UX, responsive design, clear content organization, mobile usability, and easy access to music and social platforms.
The visual identity and UI are custom and artist-focused. The project was about translating an artist's brand into a real-world, client-facing digital product.
Architecture
The codebase is TypeScript, managed as a pnpm workspace, formatted with Prettier and built on Replit. The page is rendered in the browser from one bundled module:
lil92230.com
├─ intro short LIL 9 title card while the page mounts underneath
├─ hero latest release, music video and Spotify buttons
├─ visuals official music video, opened in a player on demand
├─ discography Free The Men (EP, 2025), Rookie Of The Year (album, 2024)
│ with Spotify and Apple Music links, plus a Spotify artist player
├─ story the artist's story
└─ timeline milestones
Responsive across desktop and mobile
Challenges
- Third-party players are heavy on a phone, so the YouTube music video loads only when a visitor opens it and the Spotify player loads lazily.
- The intro is capped at about 2.2 seconds, and the rest of the page is already mounted underneath it so it can fade straight in.
- A full redesign left the previous build's component files beside new ones with near-identical names (
hero.tsxandHero.tsx), so I cleared out every component the home page no longer imports.
Results
The site is live at https://lil92230.com as "Lil 9 — Official Site". It includes:
- artist and music-focused content with a music and release showcase
- a custom visual identity and artist-focused UI
- fully responsive design across desktop and mobile
- social media and streaming platform integration
- navigation and page layouts built around clear content organization
